Connect food safety requirements with daily practice
An effective brief starts with the products, processes and prerequisite programmes behind your food safety management system. Describe the operation and the FSSC 22000 requirements relevant to your organisation so Aspire can discuss suitable preparation support.
The published scope includes food safety management systems, training and consulting.
Describe the system you have today
- Products, process flow, sites and the intended certification scope.
- Current food safety plans, prerequisite programmes and records.
- Existing audits, customer requirements and implementation priorities.
- The people responsible for maintaining and reviewing the system.
Plan practical implementation work
Discuss gap analysis, documentation, team learning and internal audit preparation. The engagement should connect the requirements being addressed with the way your teams operate and record their work.
Share the information already available so the proposal can focus on the gaps and outputs that matter to your organisation.
Confirm the applicable scheme and route
The current scheme version, scope and independent certification requirements need to be established for the engagement. Consulting supports preparation; the appointed certification body remains responsible for its audit and certification decisions.
FSSC 22000: understand the framework before choosing support
FSSC 22000 combines ISO 22000 management-system requirements, the relevant sector prerequisite-programme requirements and additional FSSC scheme requirements. The Foundation published Version 7 in May 2026. Your product category, scope and applicable transition arrangements determine which documents need to be used; check the official scheme documents when planning the work.
A useful first conversation distinguishes three objectives: understanding the requirements, improving the system at a particular site, and seeking independent certification. A training attendance record and a certified food safety management system are different outcomes.
Choose learning around the responsibilities of your team
- Awareness: discuss a common introduction for people who need to understand the system and their day-to-day responsibilities.
- Implementation: identify the people who own the food safety plan, prerequisite programmes, documented processes and evidence needed in your operation.
- Internal audit: discuss existing auditing experience, the system to be reviewed and the practical audit-planning or reporting skills needed.
These are enquiry choices, not an advertised Aspire syllabus. Ask for the confirmed outline, applicable scheme version, prerequisites, delivery language/mode, trainer, assessment and any recognition before enrolling. Current dates, fees and seats must be confirmed for a particular programme.
Build an implementation brief with usable inputs
Provide a product and process summary, site boundaries, intended consumers, current food safety documents and recent audit findings. List customer requirements and the people responsible for implementation. This helps a proposal distinguish a focused gap review from wider documentation, team-learning or internal-audit preparation work.
Agree the outputs in writing: for example, a requirements-and-evidence map, a prioritised action register, ownership of document changes and a review of completed actions. The organisation remains responsible for operating and maintaining its system; audit and certification decisions remain with the independent certification body. See the Foundation’s certification route for the official process.

The preserved archive includes HACCP and FSSC 22000 learning at MACFAST. Older FSSC Version 5 activity records remain historical evidence and are not presented as the current scheme or a new batch.
